A worldview is the foundation on which you build your understanding of the world. The worldview of each individual person represents their interpretation of the world, what is true, and what is ethical. These beliefs affect everyone in their lifestyle choices and their aptitude of society. When building a foundation for your worldview, the book of Genesis provides ample facts regarding the natural world, human identity, human relationships, and civilization. The first chapter of Genesis teaches us that the world, everything surrounding it, and everything inhabiting it, is well-made and good in God’s eyes. Genesis 1:1 states that â€Å"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth†. Throughout the rest of the chapter, God continues adding to and forming the entire universe. He carefully planned creation in a logical and orderly fashion. For example, God created light before plants so that the plants would have a source to photosynthesize and sustain life. God also put significant thought into creating the expanse, or space. Through scientific research, scientists have concluded that there are over one billion galaxies in the universe. Additionally, some scientists say that the number of stars in the galaxy are equal to the number of grains of sand on all of the beaches that cover the earth. Besides astronomy, biology also teaches us that all living organisms are composed entirely of microscopic cells.
